Visas Approved
After about 5 days in Vientiane, Laos, we both have visas to work in Thailand! We'd like to say thank you to our contact in Vientiane for hosting us and giving us easy access to the Thai embassy. God is so generous and faithful and we are so grateful! Moving forward, we're excited to share the stories and testimonies of those we volunteer with in VICC. Going to Myanmar
Philip is getting on a plane this morning, heading to Yangon, Myanmar with Kris for a week of teaching in a small Victory Bible School! Since the year 2021, Myanmar has been quite unstable with an ongoing civil war. Please keep Philip and Kris in your prayers this week. Pray for wisdom and protect. Pray that God speaks through them and that they can be an encouragement to the students. Thank you for all your prayers and support. We look to sharing pictures and stories with yo

In a Quiet Village
A prayer and worship meeting... We had the opportunity to accompany another fellow missionary for a worship and prayer meeting in a village 2 hours away from our home in Mae Sai. The pastors and the congrigents of this small church were so kind and welcoming. One of our favourite parts was when the people used a hammer to ring a large bell ourside the church doors to invite people from the village to come. Worship was beautiful and many of the villagers who came asked for pra

World Mission Continuum Society
We first arrived in Thailand unsure of what God's plan was for our journey. "How long will we be staying? What kind of missionary work will we be doing? Has God called us to stay in Mae Sai?" We haven't had answers to these questions and the truth is that our answers are fluid even now, but one thing we are convinced of in this season is that God has called us to work in Victory Mae Sai Church as missionaries. While this calling is by nature uncertain and a bit frightening, i

VICC
The start of something new... The month of January was full of wonderful developments, but there's one in particular we're especially excited to share with you. An amazing member of our church has been working very hard, preparing for the start of a new international Christian school/center here in Mae Sai! The center will be located at and partnered with Victory Mae Sai church. We had our first official parent meeting just this past week, introducing the staff, answering que

Blankets & Christmas Gifts
Children with their new blankets... We recently had the opportunity to visit a children's home located just a couples hours from Mae Sai run by a Christian organization. The foundation takes care of roughly 60 orphaned and vulnerable children, giving them safe shelter, food and education. However, it is currently winter here in Thailand and these children have been sleeping without blankets. The foundation was also unable to afford gifts for the children at Christmas this yea

Our First Christmas in Thailand It's was such a blessing to spend this Christmas season with our Victory Mae Sai family! Philip had the opportunity to help plan and execute a fun-filled Christmas event with our team for the Public Buddhist School we have had opportunity to teach in. A short video of the work that was done can be found on our Facebook page. Here's a link: https://www.facebook.com/reel/2035676677232546 For Christmas day, Kris and Tabitha welcomed us and many ot

We're Here to Stay
Chiang Rai International Christian School Our stay in Thailand has been so good these past months. God has been revealing His desires for us, and has been making it clear that we are meant to stay here in Mae Sai. For how long? We don't know! π Till further notice! Esther has been hired by an amazing missionary school in Chiang Rai called CRICS (Chiang Rai International Christian School), allowing us to get our Non-B and Non-O Visas for the remainder of the school year. We'd

Moose Jaw Team
This post is pretty late but we still want to share that, for the very first time, our church got to have a team from Canada come on a missions trip to help and support the Victory Mae Sai ministry! They were so excited and ready to help and it was so good to see familiar faces. They were able to tell Bible stories, sing Sunday school songs and play games at three different Buddhist public schools. They baked and delivered about 600 cookies to our community, and even ran a Ki

A Day in the Mountains
The youth of a nearby hill tribe... At the start of this month, we were invited to join Kris and another missionary family for a youth event in a small village in the nearby mountains! We were put in charge of planning some fun games and Kris spoke for about 3 hours, sharing his testimony and asking the youth if they were truly saved. The group was quiet and did not engage much during the teaching, but we trusted God with what was spoken and enjoyed our time with them. About

Getting Started
Making connections... Update It's nearly been two weeks since we arrived in Mae Sai, and we've met so many wonderful individuals! Victory Mae Sai Church is well connected with many other powerful ministries in the surrounding area. Many leaders of other ministries attend the evening church service, so we have had the opportunity to connect with missionaries and the work they are doing. We got to spend a day with students at a worship school, and visited a Christian bookstore.

Our 5 Year Anniversary
Five years is crazy! This is just the beginning of what is one of the deepest relationships I've ever had! I'm excited for many more years of learning and laugher with Esther. Five years is not enough time to say that I know Esther, but it has grown in me a desire to know her for many more years. Philip I am so grateful for five years of marriage with Philip! I love having someone to pray, worship, and grow with. Marriage has taught me so much already and I pray that it wi
