His Will For Our Lives

It has been over a year since we first landed in Thailand, and we still can't believe we're here sometimes!

We came here so excited to learn about our purpose, our calling, and our "assignment". Instead of some big dream, a prophetic word, or a booming voice telling us to commit our lives to a cause, God has been revealing a deep truth about His will to us through His word and through His church.

Assignments can change over the course of our lives, but God's will for our lives stays the same in every season. Among other things...

...it is His will that we give thanks in everything. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

...it is His will that we be transformed by the renewing of our minds. (Romans 12:2)

...it is His will that we do what is right. (1 Peter 2:15)

Be encouraged! A simple, hidden life is not inherently a fruitless one.

At times, focusing on "the assignment" has distracts us from the quality of life we're called to have, no matter what our assignment might be. The small, daily habits and traditions we choose to live by matter. Loving our family, friends and neighbors- these things matter. Our specific assignments are often found in living our lives according to the scriptures.

There's a saying: "How you do one thing is how you'll do everything." Luke 16:10 says "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."

By trying our best to do what is right, seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit and those who are in communion with Him, we've found ourselves here; loving on children, building new friendships, and growing our own little family. This is God's will for our lives and when the assignment changes, the root of His will for us will not.

We've made such wonderful connections this year and we're so grateful for our community here in Victory Mae Sai Church and VICC. We're also grateful for all those who've supported our mission work, helping make this past year possible. May God bless you!
